Christmas on the Dial: Some Songs Find You

Meet the characters

Everyone you will meet, before the broadcast begins

Christmas on the Dial happens in two places at once. On one side of the stage, WMRG, a small 1950s radio station, is putting its Christmas Eve broadcast on the air. On the other, a group of present-day cousins in an attic have found an old radio that is somehow picking it up. Here is who you will meet on each side, and the storyteller in the chair between them.

WMRG, The Voice of Christmas Eve: the station's round red emblem with a radio tower The Hi-Fi Five: a bass player, a saxophonist, a trumpeter, a drummer and a pianist in matching suits, over a banner reading Available for weddings, dances, and holiday engagements

At the station

The voice of WMRG. He will tell you so himself.
The co-host, and the one actually running the broadcast. She reads the commercials without cracking a smile.
The hardest-working man at WMRG.
Five men. Five instruments. One standing engagement. Available for weddings, dances, holiday functions, and any event serving ham.
The Voice of Christmas Eve. Coming to you live, straight to you.

In the attic

She's got clues. Somebody's going to get it.
Not apologizing at all for being up long past bedtime.

In the chair

She'll tell you what she remembers. She'll decide when.

Who is playing whom?

Every production of Christmas on the Dial is cast from its own community, so the faces change from town to town. Your program has tonight's cast, and you may well know a few of them.
